Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disc brake to stabilize behavior of a pad in braking and to suppress the generation of brake squeal accompanied with unstability of behavior of the pad. SOLUTION: A shim 20 for preventing the generation of brake squeal is situated between a back plate 13a of a pad 13 and a press member (a reaction force arm part 15b) to press the pad 13 toward a disc rotor 11. By pressing the pad 13 against the disc rotor 11 in three spots (claw parts 15b1, 15b2 and 15b3) of a central part, and the two parts in the peripheral direction of a rotor by the press member, a brake force is generated. A through-hole 20a to reduce the press force of the pad 13 by a claw part 15b2 is formed in the central part of the shim corresponding to the central part in a rotor peripheral direction of the pad 13.
