Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, a system, and an apparatus for identifying materials capable of making information on a large number of materials included in the materials and easily and reliably identifying the materials. SOLUTION: A material which contains an information indicating substance made of one, two, or more types of elements or their compound and related to information on the material according to the temporal attenuation characteristics of fluorescence is prepared. When the material is to be identified, the material is irradiated with electromagnetic waves of a predetermined wavelength region. Fluorescence radiated from the information indicating substance associated with the irradiation with the electromagnetic waves is detected.
