Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a rotation detecting device which detects a rotating angle of a rotating body such as a steering shaft, to mount the rotation detecting device in a narrow space. SOLUTION: A worm wheel 15 for power assist is fixed to a steering output part 15, and an input gear 22a of a detecting unit 20 is accelerated and rotated by a plane gear 15b formed on the worm wheel 15. A decelerating mechanism for decelerating the rotation of a detecting shaft 22 is mounted in a detecting unit 20, a detection rotating member mounted in a case is rotated by the deceleration at an angle of 1:1 with respect to the rotation of the steering output part 14, and its rotating angle is detected by a detecting element.
