METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THICKNESS IN THICK PLATE ROLLING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method of thickness in thick plate rolling by which the target thickness is secured over the entire length of a material to be rolled by reducing off-gage in the tip and rear end parts of the material to be rolled in the thick plate rolling using a reversing rolling mill. SOLUTION: The thickness deviation in the tip part of the material to be rolled is detected at the (n-1)th pass of the thick plate rolling using the reversing rolling mill, the thickness deviation in the tip part of the material to be rolled at the n-th pass is predicted on the basis of the thickness deviation and thickness control in the tip part of the material to be rolled at the n-th pass to correct the deviation.
