Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermosetting resin for an optical part which excels in weatherability, light source resistance, and heat resistance, is transparent and hard to discolor, and hard to cause change of properties and deterioration, and a thermosetting resin composition for forming the resin. SOLUTION: The thermosetting resin composition comprises an epoxy compound having a plurality of epoxy group-containing cyclohexyl groups or epoxy group-containing linear aliphatic groups, an acid anhydride of a cyclic aliphatic polycarboxylic acid, a nitrogen-containing organic compound, and an organotin compound. The thermoset resin for the optical part is obtained by the ring- opening polymerization of the epoxy compound and the acid anhydride in this thermosetting composition to effect curing.
