Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base fabric for an air bag having ≤1.2 cm3/sec/cm2quantity of air flow under 1.27 cm pressure drop of the fabric and about 10% difference in bending resistance between the warp and the weft directions. SOLUTION: The base fabric for the air bag is obtained by using a modified cross-section filament yarn having 5-50% hollowness of cross section of single filaments and ≤3.5 flatness degree and further not only mechanical characteristics but also low gas permeability and ≤10% difference in bending resistance between the warp and the weft directions because the surface of the base fabric is coated with a resin as the filament yarn constituting the base fabric for the air bag.
