Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for refining stainless steel, which generates a dust suitable for recycling, and to provide a dust sorting recovery apparatus. SOLUTION: The method for refining stainless steel is characterized by separating and recovering the dust generated before and after the addition of alloy elements, in a refining process in a steelmaking furnace. In the method, the alloy elements are added preferably at a period between 1/5 and 4/5 of a total oxygen-blowing decarburization refining period. The dust sorting recovery apparatus 30 comprises a means for adding the alloy elements, dust recovering means 17 and 18, several dust storage tanks 25 and 29, and switching means 24 and 27 for switching the dust storage tanks 25 and 20 when starting the addition of the alloy elements.
