Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning treatment mechanism for water polluted with heavy metals which can inexpensively perform the cleaning treatment of polluted groundwater by easily disposing lightweight and inexpensive vermiculite while putting together the vermiculite to an easily usable unit body. SOLUTION: The cleaning treatment mechanism for the water polluted with heavy metals comprises permeable boundary walls 6 built on the downstream side of areas 2 polluted with the heavy metals and the vermiculite 8 arranged at the walls 6. The polluted groundwater is positively brought into contact with the lightweight and inexpensive vermiculite and the heavy metals are adsorbed to the vermiculite, by which the heavy metals are removed from the groundwater and the groundwater is inexpensively cleaned.
