PORTABLE TERMINAL, PORTABLE TERMINAL SYSTEM, AND CHARACTER CONVERSION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for allowing a user to freely select dictionary data to be used at executing character conversion. SOLUTION: Dictionary data to be used by the portable terminal 10 at executing character conversion are stored in an external storage device 4, and the external storage device 4 is configured so as to be attachable/detachable for the portable terminal 10. Then, the control part 1 executes character conversion by using the dictionary data of the external storage device 4. Thus, it is possible to provide a plurality of external storage devices 4 in which dictionary data corresponding to the requests of respective users are stored, and it is possible for each user to select and use the external storage device 4 corresponding to his or her request to execute character conversion.
