FILE RELOCATION SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a file relocation system capable of efficiently performing the relocation of files which simultaneously satisfies various purposes in a short time. SOLUTION: In this file relocation system, a data working processing means 12 generates the input and output count number and file capacity of each file and locating state information showing whether each file is actually located to each volume or not from the access record to the file group 2 of a host online system 1 outputted from a resource information collecting system 3. A file optimum location processing means 15 determines the optimum location of files by operation by genetic algorithm using each information generated from the data working processing means 12. A file moving processing means 19 performs the relocation of files in the file group 2 according to the optimum location of files. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
