Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the deterioration of fixing property by decreasing recording paper carrying speed so that heating time may be prolonged even when fixing temperature is lower than the ordinary one, and to shorten an image forming time by quickening the output of first sheet. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus (100) is equipped with a fixing temperature detection means (86) for detecting the temperature state of a thermal fixing means (85), and a carrying speed setting means (10) for setting the carrying speed for carrying a recording medium to 1st speed at which fixing can be performed at 1st temperature when the detection means (86) detects a 1st temperature condition, and setting the carrying speed to 2nd speed at which the fixing can be performed at 2nd temperature when the detection means (86) detects a 2nd temperature condition higher than the 1st temperature.
