Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical device and a method for manufacturing the same which can hold stably and accurately functional optical fiber and manufacture efficiently a reliable ferrule with built-in functional optical fiber. SOLUTION: A long capillary tube with attenuation optical fiber 6 is cut to two or more short capillary tubes 12 which have the attenuation optical fiber with predetermined length. Then, end faces 12a and 12b of the short capillary tube 12 with the attenuation optical fiber are ground, and the built-in ferrule 13 with the attenuation optical fiber is manufactured.
