Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitor for a thermal cracking gasification fusion furnace capable of monitoring a slag outlet port 23 not to be blocked by a solidified slag, and capable of removing the slag when the blocking is likely to occur, and a control method therefor. SOLUTION: In this slag monitor having a first monitoring means 27 for monitoring, from a lateral direction in a lower side of the slag outlet port 23, a flow-down condition of the slag 19 discharged from the slag outlet port 23 in a bottom of the ash fusion furnace 13, a second monitoring means 33 for monitoring a blocking condition of the port 23 is provided in an upper side of the port 23.
