Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for carrying out a fuel cut without deteriorating shifting operability of a manual transmission even when an external load is applied to an engine from an external load device during decelerating. SOLUTION: In a power train provided with the engine carrying out the fuel cut during decelerating and the manual transmission, when a vehicle is in a decelerating state and a state of an engine speed below a predetermined fuel cut rotational frequency is continuously detected for a predetermined delay time, the fuel cut of stopping fuel supply to the engine is started. The delay time is set larger in proportion to the load applied to the engine from the external load device such as an air conditioner, a power steering device or an alternator. By this, even when the external load is applied to the engine, the fuel cut is carried out without deteriorating the shifting operability of the manual transmission. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
