Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wrong approach prevention support system capable of providing information for wrong approach to the opposite lane or an entry prohibited road to the driver of a back traveling vehicle. SOLUTION: This system comprises a road side facility and an on-vehicle facility. The road side facility detects a wrong approaching vehicle within a monitoring range in a vehicle detecting facility 1, integrally processes the information from the vehicle detecting facility and the information from a road side retained road database 4 having data for the linear shapes of peripheral roads including the monitoring range and the property every lane in an information processing facility 2 to determine the presence of the wrong approaching vehicle, and provides the information of the wrong approaching vehicle generated thereby from a communication facility 4 to the wrong approaching vehicle by communication. The on-vehicle facility receives the information from the road side facility by an on-vehicle receiving facility 10, processes the received information in an on-vehicle information processing facility 11, and reports the information to the driver by voice or display from an on-vehicle reporting facility 12.
