IMAGE DATA RETRIEVAL METHOD AND PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make further effectively usable information in a WEB page by using character string information included in image data also as an object of retrieval. SOLUTION: This image data retrieval method is provided with a process for storing image data in the database of a server in association with text description format data corresponding to the character information expressed in the image data, and receiving a keyword from a user terminal; a process for retrieving the text description format data including the key word; a process for retrieving the image data associated with the retrieval text description format data including the key word from the database; a process for generating retrieval result display data for the user terminal by use of the retrieved text description format data and the image data, and a process for transmitting the retrieval result display data to the user terminal.
