Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for calibrating an applicator assembly. SOLUTION: The applicator assembly 50 is provided with a backplate 400 attached so as to be moved up and down as shown by arrows 402, and a pipette barrel motor 406 is connected to the back side of the backplate 400. A pipette plunger motor 430 is connected to the backplate 400. When the motor is operated, a yoke 424 is moved to a direction of an arrow 426 with reference to the backplate 400. By a computer, whether the backplate 400 is situated in an upper position is decided, the motor 406 is operated, the backplate 400 is moved to its upper position, whether a plunger is situated in the upper position is decided, the motor 430 is operated, the plunger is moved to its upper position, and the applicator assembly 50 is calibrated.
