BIOPSY NEEDLE OBSERVATION DEVICE, AND METHOD FOR THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biopsy needle observation device and a method for the same which emphasizes the relation between the biopsy needle and a target object by drawing a contour of the biopsy needle on a three dimensional diagnostic image. SOLUTION: The biopsy needle observation device comprises an ultrasonic probe 102 transmitting an ultrasonic signal to a target object and receiving an reflected echo signal, a three dimensional image forming part 104 forming a three dimensional volume image by combining two dimensional data sent from the ultrasonic probe 102, a target object take-out part 106 taking out the target object from the three dimensional volume image, a position calculation part 108 estimating the position of the taken-out target object and the biopsy needle inserted into the taken-out target object, a display 110 displaying the taken-out target object, and a controller 112 calculating the positional error between the biopsy needle and the taken-out target object depending on the estimated position calculated at the position calculation part 108, and supplying the calculation error to the position calculation part 108.
