Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for separating a cable lap sheath for easily separating/peeling a lap sheath, in which a protecting sheath is bonded to a laminate tape, into the protecting sheath and the laminate tape, at recycling of the cable. SOLUTION: A laminate tape 3 in which a metal foil and a rubber/plastic material are laminated and a protecting sheath 4 comprising a rubber/plastic material are sequentially laminated around a cable core 2. The laminate tape 3 and the protecting sheath 4 are bonded together to form a lap sheath 5, thus a cable 1 is provided. A method for separating the lap sheath 5 of the cable 1 by which the laminate tape 3 is peeled from the protecting sheath 4, comprises a process where the cable 1 is submerged in a hot water of 80°C or higher to make the water content in the protecting sheath 4 to be 0.3% (weight) or more, and then the lap sheath 5 is divided along the length direction of the cable 1.
