SOLUTION: For the optical module M1, by the anisotropic etching of a mounting board 1, a low position surface 1a and a slope 1c from the low position surface 1a to a high position surface 1b are formed. An light transmission body 6 is loaded on the high position surface 1b of the mounting board 1 and the tip part of the light transmission body 6 is arranged in the state of being projected to the side of the low position surface 1a of the mounting board 1. Also, the emitted light of the light emitting element 5 disposed on the side of the low position surface 1a of the mounting board 1 is optically connected respectively to the tip part of the light transmission body 6 and a light receiving element 3 disposed along the slope 1c of the mounting board 1.
