METHOD FOR UPDATING ROAD MAP DATA

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a road map data updating method in a network type navigation system, which makes it easy for a user to provide running data which are used for updating data in a road map data base. SOLUTION: A user-transmitted information reception portion 101 receives a user ID and running data from an on-vehicle terminal 2. After the user is confirmed by a user confirmation portion 102, an unregistered road decision portion 103 decides whether or not the route of the running data has been registered in the road map data base 112, and stores the running data in an unregistered road information storage portion 111, if the route has not been registered. A new road information forming portion 104 forms link information of a road on the basis of unregistered road information, and updates the data base 112. An incentive computation portion 105 computes a degree of contribution of the user who transmitted the unregistered road information used for the updating and stores it in a user information storage portion 110.
