PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for highly safely and profitably producing a δ-aminopentadienoic acid ester derivative in an industrial scale. SOLUTION: This method for producing the δ-aminopentadienoic acid ester derivative represented by general formula (1) (R1is an alkyl or an aryl; R2and R3are each independently H or an alkyl; R2and R3may be bound to each other to form a ring; R4is an alkyl; Y is an electron-attractive group; Y may be bound to R1to form a ring) is characterized by reacting an amine derivative represented by general formula (2) or its salt, an ester derivative represented by general formula (3), and an ortho ester derivative represented by general formula (4) in the presence of an acid.
