OPTICAL TRANSMISSION AND RECEPTION MODULE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmission and reception module which has a superior electromagnetic radiation noise characteristic, i.e., EMC characteristic and also has an easy-to-assemble structure. SOLUTION: The optical transmission and reception module has a case composed of a case main body 1 having an insertion opening into which a connector provided to an end part of an optical fiber is inserted and a lid covering the case main body 1, an optical element 6 which is stored in the case and sends and receives light signal to and from the optical fiber, and a receptacle part 4 which is provided facing the insertion hole in the case and engages the connector to hold it so that the optical axis of the optical fiber and the optical axis of the optical element are aligned with each other; and the case is formed of metal which can cut off electromagnetic wave noise and the lid is made of a shield lid 2 which closes the gap between the insertion hole and receptacle part 4 and the gap between the lid main body and case main body.
