PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically and quickly set a yarn-cutting designation between embroidery objective characters which are input with a good appearance. SOLUTION: A yarn-cutting designation table in font, a yarn-cutting designation table in character size, and a yarn-cutting designation table in code are recorded in advance in a yarn-cutting designation information memory provided in a ROM of a control unit. Every time when a character or a code being an embroidery objective is input, a yarn-cutting designation-setting control is executed. By the yarn-cutting designation-setting control, first, yarn-cutting designation information corresponding to a font name of a character indicated by a character searching counter i is housed in a character string memory 45a which is indicated by a cursor counter Ki (S44). Then, yarn-cutting designation information regarding the font name and the character size is housed (S48). Then, yarn-cutting designation information regarding the character code is housed (S49).
