ELECTRIFYING MEMBER CLEANING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrifying member cleaning device for efficiently removing a dirt of an electrifying member and made excellent in maintainability as a cleaning member by having a function for discharging the dirt in the cleaning member and/or a function for correcting the posture of the cleaning member, and to provide an image forming apparatus equipped with the electrifying member cleaning device small in size and capable of obtaining a high-quality image over a long period of time. SOLUTION: The electrifying member cleaning device for cleaning the surface of the electrifying member for electrifying the surface of an image carrier while rotating in a state where it comes into contact with the surface of the rotating image carrier by making the cleaning member abut on the electrifying member, is characterized in that the cleaning member is brought into contact with or separated from the electrifying member in a direction where it rubs in parallel with the rotating direction of the electrifying member.
