PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a switch used for function selection from an operation part. SOLUTION: Radio equipment has a metallic support 15 which supports a whip antenna 14 rotatably on its axis and slidably along the axis, cylindrical members 5 and 6 which are provided on the axes of housings 2 and 3 and have at least two contacts on internal surfaces, a conductive member 18 which is fitted to end parts of the whip antenna 14 stored in the housings 2 and 3 and mutually make and break the contacts in cylinder parts of the cylindrical members 5 and 6 as the whip antenna 14 rotates, and a control part 9 which selects a function through the making and breaking of the contacts. Further, a button switch 7 which has a push button part 7b projected from a lead-out part of the whip antenna 14 is arranged and connected to the control part 9 and a function can be set by manually pressing in the whip antenna 14 or the button part 7b.
