METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING TONER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a toner by which a sharp image can be obtained by electrophotography, and in particular, to provide a method for manufacturing a toner excellent in spectral characteristics such as transparency necessary for reproducing sharp tone of a color image when the method is adopted for a color toner. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a toner includes a process of dispersing a colorant in a dispersion liquid containing a polymerizable monomer to prepare a polymerizable monomer composition and polymerizing the obtained polymerizable monomer composition to obtain color polymer particles. When the polymerizable monomer composition is prepared, an annular gap type horizontal medium dispersing machine 1 having the following structure is used. The machine is equipped with a rotatable rotor 2 and a stator 3, and the space held between the rotor and the stator is an annular gap, which is filled with medium particles 4. The rotary shaft of the rotor is horizontal. The dispersion liquid comprising the colorant and the polymerizable monomer passes through the gap. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
