Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rapid and simple method with excellent operability for detecting a target nucleic acid, for detecting the existence of a target nucleic acid, and a kit suitably used in the detecting method for detecting the nucleic acid. SOLUTION: This method for detecting a target nucleic acid uses a detecting probe bonding to the nucleic acid, including processes for: (a) introducing the detecting probe having a ligand onto a water absorbing substrate having an immobilized tested specimen and a reporter phase holding in a spreadable manner a signal reporter having a ligand-bonding compound by making contact with a liquid, (b) spreading out the detecting probe on the substrate under a stringent condition, and (c) detecting a signal from the signal reporter in a stationary phase, and when the signal is detected in the stationary phase, the nucleic acid is determined to be included in the tested specimen. The kit for detecting the nucleic acid includes the substrate having the reporter phase and the detecting probe having the ligand. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
