Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for striping and washing a magnetic card, capable of effectively separating the magnetic material from the card substrate, wherein the material and the substrate comprise a magnetic recording medium and the method requires no severe striping and washing condition. SOLUTION: This method for striping and washing a magnetic card is characterized by washing the card with a washing solution containing 0.1-30 wt.% inorganic alkaline chemical, 0.005-15 wt.% cationic surfactant and 0.005-15 wt.% anionic surfactant and/or ampholytic surfactant, wherein the ratio of the cationic surfactant to the anionic surfactant and/or the ampholytic surfactant is 1:200 to 1:1 (weight ratio).
