Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas treatment method which enables removal of a lower alcohol such as methanol efficiently and stably in a steam desorption type solvent recovery apparatus which uses activated carbon. SOLUTION: The gas treatment apparatus is used in a method which comprises an adsorption process for adsorpting gas to be treated containing the lower alcohol onto the activated carbon and a desorption process for desorpting the adsorpted component from the activated carbon with steam, and the adsorption process and the desorption process are subsequently or alternately carried out. As for the actuated carbon used, the total amount of acid groups is 0.5 meq/g or more and specific surface area is 1500 m2/g or less by BET method. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
