CONTROL APPARATUS FOR MAN CONVEYOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control apparatus for a man conveyor surely detecting a difference between the travelling speed of a footstep and the travelling speed of a hand rail and thereby to improve reliability. SOLUTION: A footstep drive portion receives drive of a driving machine 21 to move the footstep, and a hand rail drive portion receives power transmitted from the footstep drive portion to drive the hand rail in synchronization with movement of the footstep. A footstep speed detecting portion 25 directly detects the travelling speed of the footstep from the driving machine 21, and a hand rail speed detecting portion 34 directly detects the travelling speed of the hand rail. A stop control portion 40 compares a detection speed of the footstep speed detecting portion 25 with a detection speed of the hand rail speed detecting portion 34, and the driving machine 21 is gently stopped when the difference between one detection speed and the other detection speed occurs.
