METHOD AND UNIT FOR CONTROLLING MOLTEN STEEL SUPPLYING QUANTITY INTO MOLD AT OCCURRENCE OF BREAK-OUT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a unit for controlling molten steel supplying quantity into a mold at the occurrence of break-out with which damage to a continuous caster at the occurrence of the break-out can be restrained into the minimum. SOLUTION: The method for controlling the molten steel supplying quantity into the mold at the occurrence of the break-out, has a step for shutting off the supply of the molten steel into the mold (1) in the case of detecting the raising of temperature in the lower part of the mold (1) or the lowering of molten metal surface level in the mold (1) within a prescribed time after predicting the break-out of a cast slab (7) in the mold (1), in the continuous caster for continuously casting the molten steel (5) supplied into the mold (1) from a tundish (2) to the cast slab (7).
