Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of a method of observing the displacement of a track by using a settlement gauge in that a train may come before the measurement is finished causing an accident because a person in charge goes to the track and directly measures the track after a first alarm is given. SOLUTION: The device has a laser source 2 attached to the track or a fixture different from the track 1 for irradiating laser beams nearly parallel to the longitudinal direction of the track 1, and a light receiver 6 attached to the track, having a light receiving part on a reference light path as the reference for the displacement of the light path of the laser beams. The light receiver 6 is displaced according to the displacement of the track, and therefore, the displacement of the track 1 is detected based on the rate of change of the quantity of light received by the light receiver 6.
