Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low cost and high performance retainer for a ball bearing and the ball bearing by which improvement in built-in workability of retainer, improvement in lubricity, improvement in dimensional accuracy and the adoption of a less tough resin having high temperature rigidity can be carried out, and the cost lowering of a metal mold is promoted. SOLUTION: In the retainer 10 for the ball bearing provided with pockets in a plurality of places in a circumferential direction and the entirety is formed in an annulus state so as to retain a plurality of balls 85 rotatably, projections 13, 13 are provided on the upper portion of an opening side in an inner face 15 in the pocket.
