METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MEASURING SEDIMENTATION RATE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a erythrocyte sedimentation rate measurement technique that reduces required time for measuring an erythrocyte sedimentation rate and measuring the erythrocyte sedimentation rate of an infant that cannot take much block collection. SOLUTION: Measurement points A1-A3 are set in the depth direction of a test container S that accommodates an erythrocyte sedimentation measurement liquid and is placed in an inclined state with a specific inclination angle, a light-emitting device LE and a light receiving element are arranged at each of them, and required time for the boundary surface between a top clean layer liquid and a sediment to pass each of the measurement points A1-A3 is measured. Then, the required time is compared with a standard value that is obtained in advance, thus predicting the measurement result of erythrocyte sedimentation. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
