Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in safety of conventional oxygen adsorbents such that they are responsive to a metal detector, and to obtain an oxygen adsorbent having excellent oxygen adsorption capacity. SOLUTION: The oxygen adsorbent is obtained by reducing nickel-containing titanium dioxide obtained from a compound essentially comprising a nickel atom, a metal and titanium dioxide, or a titanium compound by impregnation, coprecipitation, mixing, or other methods. In the manufacturing method for the oxygen adsorbent, a solid material obtained by the impregnation, coprecipitation, or mixing of the above raw materials is heated and dried to prepare the nickel-containing titanium dioxide, which is reduced to produce the oxygen adsorbent. As titanium dioxide, its anatase type is preferable. As the compound essentially comprising a nickel atom, nickel nitrate, nickel sulfate, or nickel acetate is preferable. The reduction is preferably carried out using hydrogen at 450°C or lower. The oxygen adsorbent can be reused by reducing it again after use. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
