Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting a target DNA, having much superior operability than conventional method and capable of promptly and simply detecting the target DNA in a test sample, and to provide a kit for detecting a target DNA and suitably applicable to the method for detecting. SOLUTION: This method for detecting a target DNA is applied with a labeled RNA probe having bondability to the target DNA, comprises (a) a step for introducing a test sample on a water-absorbing substrate having a stationary phase fixed with the labeled RNA probe, (b) a step for introducing ribonuclease H on the water-absorbing substrate, (c) a step for developing the test sample and the ribonuclease H on the water-absorbing substrate under a stringent condition and (d) a step for measuring a signal from the label of the labeled RNA probe on the stationary phase and decides that, if the signal is lower than that of a control sample containing no target DNA, the target DNA is contained in the test sample. The kit for detecting the target DNA contains the ribonuclease H and the water-absorbing substrate having the stationary phase. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
