Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanical seal that is used regardless of sealing liquid pressure, positive or negative, without supplying lubricating oil to a sealed end face. SOLUTION: The mechanical seal M comprises: a seal ring 1 fixed to a rotational shaft S; and a driven ring 5 urged on the seat ring side by a spring 24 of which one end is attached to a casing 20. Bellows packing 10 made of a flexible member is disposed between the casing and the driven ring, and a stopper 8 projecting outward is disposed to a rear end portion of the driven ring, and a rear end portion of the bellows packing is positioned closer to a seal ring side than the stopper.
