Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbon raw material, which has excellent oxidation- resistance, at a low cost, to provide also a raw material, the use of which improves the oxidation resistance and the fluidity of a monolithic refractory containing a carbon compound by controlling the shape of the material, and to provide the monolithic refractory. SOLUTION: A carbon powder such as graphite is granulated into an oxidation-resistant carbon raw material by using, as a binder, a boric-acid glycerin solution containing boric-acid and/or boron oxide of 60-70 mol% in terms of boron oxide. In particular, by heating the oxidation-resistant carbon raw material, which is granulated from the carbon powder such as graphite, at 50-300°C, the boric-acid and/or boron oxide and the glycerin can be dehydrated and condensed. Next, a monolithic refractory is made to contain this oxidation-resistant carbon raw material to become a carbon-containing monolithic refractory. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
