Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the deceleration of a car to a proper value at the time of an emergency stop or a quick stop, in an elevator adopting a resin coated main rope. SOLUTION: When operating an electromagnetic-brake device in a prescribed speed condition at the time of an emergency stop or a quick stop, a small resistor is connected with an electromagnetic-brake coil in parallel according to a car load, an operation direction, etc., to slow down the build up of braking force. Especially at the time of an emergency stop or a quick stop, the deceleration of the car is controlled to softened the impact to a passenger, and the service life of a rope can be prolonged.
