Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alumina sintered compact which has excellent hardness and strength at high temperature, and to provide an edge replaceable tip and a cutting tool which are obtained by utilizing the same, and realizes high speed cutting. SOLUTION: The alumina sintered compact is obtained by incorporating rare earth element-containing segregated material in a grain boundary phase with which alumina particles are bonded.
