PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize the entire press while manufacturing it in a simple structure at a low cost. SOLUTION: The press in provided with a die opening means which supports the entire die driving mechanism 7 for driving a movable die 5 back and forth by a prescribed stroke to a fixed die 4 supported by a bolster 2, so as to be displaced in a die moving direction to the bolster 2, and moves the entire die driving mechanism 7 in a die opening direction more than a die operation stroke together with the movable die 5. Also, a stopper member 17 for receiving and supporting press reaction acting on the die driving mechanism 7 is constituted so as to change its position to a reaction receiving and supporting position interposed between the die driving mechanism 7 and a machine body fixing part and a die opening position withdrawn from there.
