Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for decomposing a waste tire with simple operation and collecting usefull components such as graphite and flammable gas without generating toxic gas. SOLUTION: The waste tire is crushed into fine pieces. The fine pieces are directly immersed in molten salt in a molten salt decomposition vessel 2, and thermally decomposed at a melting temperature or higher in an inert gas atmosphere. The flammable gas is collected from gas components which are generated by the thermal decomposition in a flammable gas collection container 4 with a cold trap 3 and a filter 4, and carbon is collected from the molten salt in a water washing vessel 6.
