Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biopsy device suitable for use with a magnetic resonance imaging machine. SOLUTION: This biopsy device which is compatible for use with a magnetic resonance imaging machine comprises a non-metallic elongated substantially tubular needle having a distal end, a proximal end, a longitudinal shaft between the distal end and proximal end, and a port on the elongated needle for receiving a tissue sample. The device further has a sharpened distal end for insertion within tissue. The sharpened distal tip is attached to the distal end of the needle and at least partially comprises a material which leaves an artifact under a magnetic resonance imaging. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
