OPTICAL FIBER BLOCK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber block which has high reliability by minimiz ing the influence of an epoxy resin, facilitates the mounting of a bare optical fiber in a V shape groove, and makes it easy to mount optical fibers positioned on both ends among many V shape grooves. SOLUTION: The optical fiber block for arraying optical waveguide devices has an array of 1st V shape grooves arranged at both its ends and 2nd V shape grooves arranged between both the ends of the 1st V shape grooves and different from the 1st V shape grooves and comprises an optical fiber array part including the V shape groove array for storing uncoated optical fibers of a ribbon of optical fibers and a stress-reduction-depth part extending to a determined depth from the optical fiber array part so as to reduce stress due to the coating material of the optical fiber.
