Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve energy absorption performance while implementing weight reduction. SOLUTION: An impact energy absorbing member comprises: a metal pipe body 2 of which section has an approximately circular shape or a polygonal shape; foaming aluminum 3 that collapses at a stage where compression stress is loaded, while maintaining approximately a fixed stress; and expanded metal 4 made of the same material as the foaming aluminum 3 and deformed at the stage where the compression stress is loaded without buckling. A circumference around an axial center of the pipe body 2 is coated by the foaming aluminum 3, and the circumference around an axial center of the foaming aluminum 3 is covered with the expanded metal 4.
