Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recovering lithium, cobalt and other rare valuable metallic component from a lithium secondary battery electrode material by a simple operation. SOLUTION: The valuable metallic component is recovered by loading the electrode material of a crushed lithium battery in a molten salt vessel 1, chemically reacting under an atmospheric oxygen atmosphere at about 300°C in the presence of the molten salt such as lithium nitrate and precipitating the valuable metals contained in the electrode material as metal oxides or metallic carbonates in the molten salt to separate, filtering the oxides or carbonates by using a precipitate separator 2 and recovering.
