PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vessel provided with the stern having excellent ice breaking performance. SOLUTION: In a cross section cutting a vessel 10 with a plane containing the center line X extended along the longitudinal direction of the vessel 10 and formed along a rear part vertical line Y, an angle θ formed by a straight line 1 connecting a position of a summer load waterline ds on an ice breaking surface and a position of a ballast waterline dband the center axis X is set at 45 degree or less. In a cross section cutting the vessel 10 with a plane containing the summer load waterline ds and vertical to the rear part vertical line Y, an angle α formed by a tangent m at a position of the rear vertical line Y on the ice breaking surface along the rear vertical line Y and the center line X is set at 50 degree or less. In a cross section cutting the vessel 10 with a plane containing the rear part vertical line Y and crossing the center line X, an angle β formed by a tangent n at a position of the summer load waterline dbon the ice breaking surface and the rear part vertical line Y is set at 35 degree or more.
