Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain healthy food using laver as a law material and provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: Laver rice is produced by the method including a process for mixing 70-80 wt.% powdery laver with 20-30 wt.% powdery rice and kneading the mixture with water and a process for press-forming the kneaded mixture in a shape and size of rice. The laver rice containing 70-80 wt.% laver and 20-30 wt.% rice is a high protein-low calorie rice, though the rice contains 5 times as much protein but has only 2/3 times as much calories compared with common rice. The laver rice is remarkably and efficiently used in dietary therapy of diabetics who should control carbohydrates and obesity patients who are suffering from various adult diseases caused by overweight. Laver candy produced by adding predetermined water and a sweetener to the powdery laver and kneading the mixture used as a law material for bread, rice cake, confectionery or yokan (sweetened and jellied bean paste), is served not only as between-meal foods for the diabetes and the obesity patients but for supplying protein required for the growth of growing children with preventing obeseness, though the laver candy contains about 2 times as much protein but contains about 36% less calories compared with candy prepared by using common red beans.
