SOLUTION: This plant remote control system comprises a plant 20-i having two or more devices 20a-i, and an operating state monitoring device 20bc-i for monitoring an operating state of at least one of two or more devices, two or more portable terminals 10-i respectively having a position detecting part for detecting the present position of the corresponding portable terminal, a traffic information Web server 60 for storing the traffic information, and a central control post for specifying at least one of two or more portable terminals on the basis of the position of the device, the present positions of two or more portable terminals, and the traffic information stored in the traffic information Web server, when the failure of the device is detected on the basis of the plant information indicating the operating state of the device monitored by the operating condition monitoring device 20bc-i, and transmitting the failure information including the contents of the failure and the measures against the failure, to the specified portable terminal.
